The Stroke Association has been in the national press calling for a reduction in the number of strokes units nationally. The charity is echoing the view of the National Clinical Director for stroke Prof Tony Rudd, who feels that fewer units will yield better care. (more…)

Public Health England have launched a new campaign called Act FAST to promote the use of the FAST test to help diagnose the symptoms of stroke, as treatment at hospital as quickly as possible can help save lives and increases the chances of recovery.

Following changes to our hospital stroke services in March 2015 to ensure more patients went to a specialist stroke centre, the region has seen a big improvement in the quality of stroke care it provides to patients in its 9 stroke units. (more…)
