Salford stroke study day

The stroke team at Salford Royal foundation trust put on a fantastic study day on 1st February 2018, attended by over 70 people from across the region.

The event provided presentations on stroke diagnosis including mimics of stroke and the development of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner role as well as covering other interesting stroke topics.

There was an overview of the evidence supporting Intra-arterial Thrombectomy from Interventional Neuroradiologist Amit Herwedker, a presentation from Professor Craig Smith on stroke associated pneumonia and an interesting presentation on Carotid endarterectomy.

The day also involved a golden nugget section of case reports and research abstracts.

The study day is part of a larger local programme of stroke training across the region.
