New research may offer drug treatment for wake up strokes

New research suggests that people who wake up with a stroke could now benefit from thrombolysis treatment as the drug is currently only given if the time of onset for a stroke is definitely known to be under 4.5 hours.

Results of the WAKE-UP clinical trial have just been presented at the European Stroke Organisation Conference and published in theĀ New England Journal of Medicine.
